Ryan Lips is a native New Orleanian whose family roots in the region date back to the 1750s. I graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a degree in communications. He grew up as an artist - working with pencil and charcoal - creating drawings of people, places, and everything in between.
A leukemia diagnosis on Christmas Eve of 2011 spurred him to take photography more seriously and he hasn't looked back.
"My goal with every photograph is to recreate what I saw and what I felt when I was standing there in the scene. I try to take photographs that I enjoy looking at over and over and my hope is always that others will feel the same way."
Ryan's landscape photography was published in the award-winning book The Gardener's Garden available on Amazon. He is available for commissioned work and was a participating photographer in the 2016 PhotoNOLA annual festival of photography.
