Ryan Lips is a native New Orleanian whose family roots in the region date back to the 1750s. He graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a degree in communications. Ryan grew up as an artist - working with pencil and charcoal - creating drawings of people, places, and everything in between.
A leukemia diagnosis on Christmas Eve of 2011 (now in remission) spurred Ryan to take photography more seriously and he hasn't looked back.
"My goal with every photograph is to recreate what I saw and what I felt when I was standing there in the scene. I try to take photographs that I enjoy looking at over and over and my hope is always that others will feel the same way."
Ryan's landscape photography was published in the award-winning book The Gardener's Garden available on Amazon. He is available for commissioned work and he was a participating photographer in the 2016 PhotoNOLA annual festival of photography.
